Here is the letter from Executive Director Ann Jordahl that kicks off the 2016-2017 Annual Giving Campaign:
“The Child is both a hope and a promise for mankind…”
– Dr. Maria Montessori
The Montessori School of Lake Forest opened its doors in 1966 with the goal of educating “the whole child” using Dr. Montessori’s theories.
Fifty years later, our vision is clear and our promise to each MSLF child remains focused. We fulfill our mission, “to cultivate in every MSLF child a lifelong love of learning.”
Our objectives are current and straightforward:
- To Provide an exceptional Montessori school experience
- To Grow and develop the MSLF community
- To Build a sustainable institution
We can attain these objectives with your continuing and ongoing support.
Today I am writing to ask you to support MSLF’s 2016-2017 Annual Fund Campaign.
Our Annual Fund is our most critical source of philanthropic support because it affects virtually everything that we do on both our Laurel Drive and Blue House Campuses.
It directly impacts our students and faculty by providing continuing education for our teachers, and supporting program development. Your donations allow us to provide the excellent education that MSLF has become known for over the past 50 years.
Your philanthropic support enables students in need of financial aid to attend MSLF; it helps bridge the $139,000 gap that exists between tuition and what it actually costs to educate each and every student; and it gives the school the flexibility to absorb unexpected costs and maintenance around both campuses throughout the year.
We ask that every family participate in the Annual Fund Campaign every year. Strong support – 100% participation – allows us to apply for and receive grants that are available only to independent schools. Grantmaking organizations look for 100% support from a school community when deciding which organizations are worthy of their dollars.
Your gift, no matter its size, makes a difference in the lives of students and families, and helps us continue to fulfill our mission, already fifty years strong.
