Upcoming Admission Open Houses

An anecdote from an MSLF Parent: “My daughter who will be 4 years old in November came home from Montessori School of Lake Forest today and with a bounce in her step and twinkling eyes showed me this piece of fabric with a button sewn in the center. You can only imagine my own enthusiasm when I realized that she (not even 4 yet!) had done this work herself.”

Through this challenging practical life work, a young child learns how to use thread, a needle, fabric, scissors, an d a button with the ultimate goal of sewing the button onto a piece of fabric. In the process, she learns so much more: fine motor control, the development of concentration, the responsibility of working with sharp objects, and the execution and completion of a task. Montessori education challenges children to push their limits and realize their potentials, and often to surprise the adults around them of their capabilities.

Please join us for our upcoming Saturday Admission Open Houses on October 3rd and November 14th from 10 AM to 12 PM . We offer weekday Open Houses on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM or by appointment. To RSVP, please call 847-918-1000.
