MSLF Upper Elementary Play – Friday, March 11
March 1, 2016

Our Upper Elementary class has been working on their adaptation of  Kate DiCamillo ‘s book  The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.  The novel tells the story of a china rabbit’s adventures in the 1930s. The porcelain rabbit is owned by a 10-year-old girl, who loses him during a voyage on the Queen Mary. He spends 297 days under water until a storm frees him and is recovered by a fisherman’s wife. He is then passed around to a hobo and his dog, then a sick girl.

The class first read the novel, then with the assistance of Helen Gerbin, used improvisation to write the script for their performance. Everyone in the class has been involved in the writing, sewing costumes and preparing the set, with assistance from Jeff Daube.  They look forward to seeing everyone at the event!
