The Montessori School of Lake Forest is seeking an Elementary After School Club Assistant (ages 6-12) for the 2026-2027 school year. The After School Club Assistant is counted on to nurture, guide, and teach children utilizing the Montessori method. The ideal candidate will be reliable, and possess a patient, positive, and firm but respectful manner toward children in their care.

• Hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 - 6:00pm (15 hrs/wk)
  
• Position available for 2026-2027 school year
• Pay starting at $18.00 per hour
• Experience working with children in a Montessori environment preferred
• Position start date August 17, 2026

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and supportive respect for colleagues, children and families (required)
• Support and supervise a wide variety of recreational tasks or projects
• Observing children, supporting class rules and class procedures, and overall supervision of the classroom
• Assisting children in developing independence with self-care, with snack set-up/clean-up and cooking projects
• Preparing and maintaining the environment including classroom stocking, organization and daily cleaning
• Working with individual or small groups of children on limited and specific tasks or projects
• Always projecting supportive attitude and employing positive language in all communications with all members of the school community at all times
• If directed, helping maintain current, accurate classroom records

Qualifications include:

• Required: High School Diploma
• Preferred: Two years of college, prior experience working with children, First Aid & CPR training/certification
• Montessori experience or certification a plus
• Good communication skills and strong work ethic
